Workshop Description:
A literature review is one of the key ways of building a foundation for a research project. Collecting material for your literature review is only half the task; the other half is writing the review. This workshop will cover a range of topics involved in writing a lit review, including:- • the purpose of a literature review
- • the process of conducting a literature review
- • types of literature reviews
- • structuring the written product, including making a point, connecting ideas and themes, and providing a scaffold for the broader research project
- • examining sample reviews to identify strengths and weaknesses
This workshop is open to students from all disciplines. It does not cover search strategies for literature reviews; for those aspects of conducting a literature review, please take the "Literature Reviews: Great Research Starts Here!" workshop. - Facilitator(s): Susan Atkey, Sarah Blay, Sarah Blay, Rebecca Shaw, Rebecca Shaw
