Participating in a writing community can help to keep you motivated whether you are working on your thesis, dissertation or another intensive graduate level writing project.

Join fellow graduate students to work on your writing goals, share best practices and get feedback on your writing (if you wish). Our Graduate Student Writing Communities are facilitated by graduate students from the Centre for Writing and Scholarly Communication and the UBC Research Commons and are hosted bi-weekly in Koerner Library. Each meeting will include discussion and focused writing time.

While all graduate students are welcome, the Graduate Student Writing Community hosted biweekly on Wednesday from 5-7 pm is a good fit for students writing in Science and Applied Science disciplines or Multi-Disciplinary writing that is quantitative in nature. Registration is required.

(Writing in Arts and Humanities disciplines or Multi-Disciplinary writing that is qualitative in nature? Join our Tuesdays 2-4 Graduate Writing Community.)

Note: Graduate Student Writing Communities are most beneficial if you commit to participating regularly and are able to attend the biweekly meetings for the duration of the term.
